The Akin PTO is run entirely by volunteers, and their support is vital to the success of our students and teachers! We’re grateful for our volunteers, as many on-campus activities wouldn’t be possible without them. First, sign up to be an approved Leander ISD volunteer. RECURRING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
WATCH D.O.G.S.
Watch DOGS spend the day engaging with students—reading, playing, helping at lunch and recess, monitoring entrances, hallways, and traffic. They assist where needed, connecting with all students. Principals report their presence significantly reduces bullying.
LISD Clothes Closet
The Clothes Closet is operated by friendly, helpful LISD PTA volunteers. The purpose is to provide gently worn, clean, school clothing as well as brand new underwear and socks, to students in need, ages 4 through 18 or pre-K through high school. The only qualification for families to shop at the Clothes Closet is that their student attends an LISD school. Each family needs to obtain one voucher per child from the school nurse.

LEVELED BOOK ROOM
If you have time to spare on Fridays, we always need help in our Leveled Book Room collecting, sorting, and re-shelving the leveled readers our Aviators use each day. Please click the button below to sign up on our calendar.
STOCK THE TEACHER'S LOUNGE
If you're short on time, we're always accepting donations for the teacher's lounge! Donate coffee, snacks, or supplies to keep our teachers happy and energized. Every bit helps make the lounge a great place to recharge.
